Ms. Yasmine Ali joined Beltone Asset Management in 2004 and was a main player in the core team that positioned Beltone Financial as one of the leading investment banks in the region. In her capacity as head of equity, Ms. Ali has seen total assets under management grow from E£ 0.3 bn in 2004 to reach an excess of E£ 26 bn in 2008. Ms. Ali has been instrumental in launching innovative products that cater to varying client risk-return requirements; launching the first E£ money market account in Egypt followed by the first two money market funds denominated in USD and Euro. Today the equity team manages E£ 3.3 bn in equity investments across the MENA region.
Ms. Ali began her career in 1998 as a financial analyst working for one of the first private equity funds in the region, the Horus Private Equity Fund at EFG - Hermes. Ms. Ali was responsible for analyzing companies and making recommendations to the investment committee. In 2000, Ms. Ali moved to join the equity team at EFG - Hermes covering the Egyptian Market as a financial analyst responsible for multiple sectors and a member of the investment committee responsible for portfolio allocation and performance. Within the space of two years, Ms. Ali was promoted to the office of vice president at EFG - Hermes Asset Management, responsible for covering the Middle East and North Africa markets and managing one of the first funds investing in the Middle East and North African markets.
After graduating in 1998 from the American University in Cairo with a BA in Economics, Ms. Ali successfully completed the Finance and Investment Appraisal course offered by EFG - Hermes based on Chase Manhattan standards. The course focused on topics such as financial analysis and valuations. She is currently a CFA level III candidate.
