Rania Afifi
Ms. Afifi joined Beltone Financial in January 2005 and serves as a Director within the Investment Banking team.
Since joining Beltone Financial, Rania has led and participated in M&A and Equity Capital Markets transactions in the information technology, telecommunications, food and beverages, and retail sectors both within the investment banking and the private equity functions within Beltone. Notable transactions include the IPO of Egypt's largest IT player, a transaction worth EGP 340 million, and the strategic sale of a local market leader in food and beverages. Other assignments include restructuring and advisory for a 5-way merger in information technology, structuring and analysis for a leveraged buyout in the food industry, negotiations for an acquisition in the building materials sector, and restructuring and acquisitions in specialty glass and paper packaging. Prior to joining Beltone Financial, she was Assistant Manager at Commercial International Bank, in charge of developing the Real Estate Mortgage Finance Department. Rania has over 12 years of experience in various specializations within the financial services industry, four of which are at EFG-Hermes in addition to three years at Gulf Arab Investment Company, a regional private equity organization with substantial financial resources. At Gulf Arab Investment Company, she participated in acquisitions and in the financing of projects in various industries, including specialty glass, pharmaceutical, and food processing. In the years spent at EFG-Hermes, Rania worked as Institutional Account Executive and was responsible for the GDR Trading Desk in the Securities and Trading Division, in addition to working for 18 months in the Investment Banking Division. She has diversified knowledge of securities trading, financial analysis, and corporate finance functions.
Ms. Afifi graduated from the American University in Cairo with High Honors in 1997. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. In May 2000, she completed the Finance and Investment Appraisal Course at EFG-Hermes, based on the Chase Manhattan Credit and Investment Course, covering topics including accounting concepts, credit and investment analyses, and valuation.
