Hesham Gohar
Mr. Hesham Gohar joined Beltone Financial in April 2010 and is currently a Senior Banker with the Investment Banking team.
Hesham has 10 years of investment banking and private equity experience in the MENA region, during which he has worked in Dubai, Jeddah and Cairo. Prior to Beltone, Hesham was with SHUAA Capital as Head of Principal Investments based out of their Dubai office, with overall responsibility for the firm's proprietary investment portfolio. Before SHUAA, Hesham was Director of Principal Investments and member of the Investment Committee at Dubai Capital Group (DCG), the MENA focused investment arm of Dubai Holding, where he led a number of transactions across MENA, Turkey, Russia and Sub-Saharan Africa, and successfully closed a number of landmark deals including the firm's participation in the largest leveraged buyout in the history of the MENA region. His responsibilities also included overseeing a multi-sector, multi-asset class >USD 700mn portfolio across global emerging markets. Prior to DCG, Hesham was with Swicorp, a leading investment bank headquartered in Geneva with offices across the MENA region, advising on M&A and ECM transactions out of Jeddah and Cairo. Hesham started his career at Egyptian investment bank Sigma Capital, where he advised on numerous transactions in the telecoms, food & beverage, and industrial sectors.
Hesham was previously a member of the board of several companies including Marfin Investment Group (Cyprus), Sphinx Glass (Egypt), Somocer (Tunisia), as well as the Investment Committee of the Government of Dubai's "Knowledge Fund". He graduated from the American University in Cairo with a BA in Economics, and completed Executive Education at Harvard Business School.
