Aly El Tahry

Mr. Aly El-Tahry, Director, is a co-founder and board member of Beltone Financial. In 1991, El-Tahry co-founded Kidder, Peabody & Co.'s Middle East regional office in Cairo, where he was co-manager and was involved primarily in corporate finance activities including privatization projects.

El-Tahry cut his teeth in the business at Kidder, Peabody & Co., which was at the time one of the oldest and most respected investment banking firms on Wall Street. He co-founded EFG-Hermes which grew to become the largest investment bank in the Middle East. Before leaving the company in 1999, during two separate tenures, he managed both Corporate Finance and Sales and Trading divisions.

A past member of the board of EFG-Hermes and the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchange, he now serves as Director of three international investment funds. In both 1997 and 1998, Global Finance magazine named El-Tahry one of the World's 600 Most Powerful People in Finance.

El-Tahry received his MBA from the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University in 1987 and earned BSc degrees from Washington & Lee University (Physics-engineering) and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Mechanical Engineering).
